New CEO
The Mercer County Behavioral Health Commission, Inc. is pleased to announce the hiring of Mr. George Cavanaugh to the position of Chief Executive Officer.
Mr. Cavanaugh has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Edinboro University and a MPA from Gannon University. He has been the Director of Human Services for the County of Venango for the past 17 years. His responsibilities as the Director included overall management of a $25 million dollar budget which included the services of Mental Health, Mental Retardation, Children and Youth, Aging, Drug and Alcohol and Early Head Start as well as a variety of other responsibilities. Mr. Cavanaugh's professional activities include past President of the MH/MR administrators Association of PA; Board of Directors of the National Behavioral Health Directors, Chairman of the Western PA Training Council; Philadelphia Guidance Clinic and Board of Directors of the Human Service Administrators of PA. He is also involved in a number of community activities.
Mr. Cavanaugh will continue to live in Rouseville and commute to Mercer. He will start his position in Mercer on April 19, 2004.
The Board of Directors and staff of the Mercer County Behavioral Health Commission, Inc., along with the Mercer County Board of Commissioners are pleased to welcome such a fine individual as Mr. Cavanaugh to this agency.
